From Florence, through Perugia and Abruzzo to Rome. You will become personally acquainted with the melodic names of some of Italy's finest cities during this 7-day "Tracing Mille Miglia" tour. Enjoy the unique experience of driving various vintage BMWs in convoy on the roads of Italy. The journey takes you to some of Italy's best four- and five-star hotels. Alongside the pleasure of driving in a vintage car, the typically Italian delicacies provided for lunch and the exclusive evening meals served during this tour make it even more of a unique experience!
Day 1A VIP shuttle service is on hand to transport you from Florence airport to the hotel. In these charming surroundings you can relax and be revived after your journey. You will then be given an introduction to each of the vehicles of the BMW Classics. Your tour departs Florence heading in the direction of Arezzo, a city which dates back to the Middle Ages, and the Etruscan town of Gubbio before reaching your final destination of the day in Perugia. Day 2
After breakfast, we start the journey from Perugia to Orvieto. After 123 km on the dream-like winding roads of Umbria, we reach the lovely city of Orvieto. During the journey, you can enjoy the wonderful scenery and on a stop along the way, the hospitality so typical of Italy. You can look back on your impressions of the second day when we spend the night at a ***** hotel in Orvieto, an Etruscan city, wonderfully sited on a high plateau.
Day 3
After a hearty breakfast, we leave Orvieto and drive past beautiful lakes and the unique landscape of the Latium region and head via Viterbo to the historic capital: Rome. After driving round Rome, the afternoon sees us reaching the small town of Ladispoli on the coast where you will spend the night within a stone's throw of the sea.
Day 4
From Ladispoli, the tour takes the stunning coast roads past Santa Marienella and Allumiere to Porto Ercole. Watch the sun going down over the sea as you savour the delights of Italian cooking on the terrace of Il Pellicano and unhurriedly while away the evening.
Day 5
The focus of day five is "Tuscan sights and sounds". On the road from Porto Ecole to Siena, we pass the dreamy hilly landscapes around the villages of Grosseto, Castel del Piano and Monteroni d'Arbia. In Siena, the Antica Trattoria Botteganova awaits us with delicacies typical of Tuscany. You will spend the night in a ***** hotel with Tuscan ambience.
Day 6
The last stage of the journey takes us from Siena back to Florence. During a stop at Restaurante Albergaccio, in Castellina di Chianti, you will enjoy delightful traditional fare in the heart of the famous Chianti region. 159 km later, we reach our destination in Florence. You can look back over the highlights of the last few days over wine and olives in a Tuscan villa.
Day 7
Before you leave, the last day is free for you to explore Florence, experiencing the culture, shopping and discovering the history of Italy. To round off the tour, you will enjoy an exclusive dinner, for example in Restaurante Sabatani.
Day 8
Depart Florence for home.
